It started with a warm bottle of rosé.
The problem we couldn't stop thinking about
We're a father-and-daughter team from the Netherlands. We love hosting. We love wine. And for years, we lived with a small annoyance that quietly ruined the moment - the bottle gets warm five minutes after you pour it. Ice buckets help, but they leave puddles on your table, sweat onto your linens, and dilute every refill.
We tried everything on the market. The plastic sleeves that don't really cool. The fancy ice buckets that still need ice. The vacuum tubes that look like science equipment. Nothing kept wine perfectly chilled for the length of a real dinner — and nothing looked like something you'd actually want on your table.
So we made our own. It took longer than we expected. Many prototypes, several failed designs, and a lot of late evenings testing temperature curves with a thermometer and a notebook. The result is the Coolenator — a wine cooler with a removable freezer core that holds the bottle at the right temperature for up to six hours, with no ice, no condensation, and no compromise on how it looks.
