Ice works. It's just a hassle.
An ice bucket does cool your bottle - but it comes with trade-offs you've probably just gotten used to. It chills fast and unevenly, the temperature drifts as the ice melts, and you're left with a puddle on the table, condensation on your linens, and a bucket of watery ice taking up space.
We wanted the cooling without the compromises - something that holds wine at the right temperature for the length of a real dinner, with no ice, no mess, and no melting. So we built it, and then we tested it properly.

One removable freezer core
The Coolenator's cooling comes from a single removable freezer core - the freezer bullet. You keep it in your freezer; when you're ready, it slides into the highly insulated Coolenator body and locks in place with a no-leak twist cap. No ice, no water, no condensation. The core is reusable indefinitely.
Always ready when you are
In a standard household freezer at –18°C, the core fully freezes in about 9 hours. Freeze it overnight and it's ready whenever you are. For fastest freezing, keep it near the back or bottom of the freezer, where the temperature is most stable.
What affects cooling time
Real-world performance varies a little with conditions. Here's what makes the difference - so you can get the best from your Coolenator.
Freezing the core:
- Freezer temperature - below –18°C is best
- Freezer load and how often the door is opened
- Core placement - back or lower shelves freeze fastest
Cooling your bottle:
- Room temperature during use
- How cold the bottle was to start
- How often you lift the bottle out (each time lets warm air in)
